A TEXT POST

Precipice Thoughts

On my faithful blogspot blog I’ve once written a post with the same title; truly, thoughts on the precipice slightly after midnight on 1 Aug make for some good reflection, especially if it’s after a good weekend so far. So allow me the indulgence of recollection before reflection. Friday afternoon was spent at lunch and walking around marina square catching up with Royston, over award-winning char siew rice and oolong milk tea. As evening segued into view we gathered at the indoor stadium for this year’s festival of praise, followed by dinner at kallang macs. Saturday morning bright and early I met Paul, Sean and Darius for brunch at Hatched and desert at PS Cafe Dempsey. Then it was off to my second viewing of Inception with Daniel, Kenneth and Darius before we made our way to Colleen’s party. Quite honestly this is the earliest I’ve been home on a weekend night in a long time, and I’m afforded some breathing space before tomorrow only by virtue of not having to wake up earlier than second service, the second time in two consecutive weeks, which must be a record.

I suppose this blog is slowly gaining prominence in my book because of its connectedness. So I no longer relegate those inspired thoughts here in their fleeting, few and far between occurrences, but rather, deliberately set down introspections here with great intent. New church financial year, last 5 months of 2010, and the first of 3 effective working months in my calendar. Each day down is one day closer, but there remains a thicket which I can only tip-toe-ly glimpse over, but needing that same Intervention as I’ve received in the past.

If anything, in everything, Prayer.
